The work from home scenario has brought a lot of businesses to a standstill in order to beat this virus. Other than eating a bit more and drinking a bit more are we getting the most out of this time?
As business owners who have gone through great times and not so great times, this is most likely not going to last and before you know it, be back to business be it a little different than pre-Covid. One thing that you can do while it's a bit quieter, irrespective of the revenue you're bringing for now, is get those few things done that you have been meaning to do for a long while. I dont mean a new coat on the deck, I mean something that is important in your business, that you know needs to be done every time it comes up, but haven't gotten around to it.
For example, most small business owners have a tough time with MYOB or Xero and can't always navigate or articulate what they are looking for on the platforms. Think about the couple of pain points that you have and go on their websites and search the terms on their online courses, and get up to speed. Both companies mentioned above have excellent learning platforms. Best of all If you go and take a look a lot of courses are free at the moment.
The same thing goes for Marketing, Adwords, Facebook, phone sales and the list goes on. If there was ever a time to do some learning now is the time to do it. All of these sales and marketing bits and pieces can be found online, if you don't have the money to go full scale then doing a quick search can lead you to some great content.
Another great thing to improve during slow times is the process and procedures within your business. This can be hard on the run sometimes, but with the current reboot it is a perfect time. Go though the business and work out the processes for each staff member or function and make sure it's documented. Then look how you can make it more efficient when you are back up and running. I assure you that when its written down and reviewed you can see with clarity around how you can make your business better.

So the moral of the story here is to take the opportunity and get something done, it's a great time to do it and you will thank yourself in a few months that you did.
